Abstract

The website and its two domains www.themarketwall.com and www.nottinghamwall.com collect and present in an interactive way the materials of the funded research titled ‘The city of two towns: Mapping the wall of Nottingham’s French and English Boroughs through location-based technologies to foster a link between local heritage and community engagement.’ The aim was to demonstrate how creative digital technologies (Augmented Reality and GeoBlog) can help investigating and restoring the forgotten yet unique identity of Nottingham, ‘city of two towns’, through inspiring heritage strategies shared to a wider audience. The content of the website includes a GeoBlog to organise and visualise georeferenced data and maps. The website and GeoBlog realised an easy-to-use tool for researchers, historians and citizens to visualise the research data and maps in an interactive learning platform, while revealing Nottingham’s intangible heritage.
