Abstract

As people understand that climate change is anthropogenic, they realize they hold the key to mitigate it by embedding the correct climate solutions and institutional policies into organizations. There is however a need to increase research and understanding in management studies on how to support managers in this task. Carbon Literacy Training can directly inform how business schools are responding to the climate crisis and can help make business & management education more environmentally and socially sustainable and responsible by educating both staff and students. The session aims to introduce the award-winning Carbon Literacy Training for Educators, Communities, Organizations and Students (CLT-ECOS) developed by Nottingham Trent University’s Green Academy in collaboration with the United Nations PRME Climate and Environment Working Group. The session includes a taster of the training to demonstrate how it works, and an opportunity for participants to learn about their own carbon impacts. There will be a chance for Q&A at the end. The aim is twofold: to invite participants to sign up for CLT-ECOS training delivered as a 4-part CMBE accredited-workshop in June and to encourage business & management educators to consider adopting this training in their own institutions.
