Abstract

In practice what does professionalism and professionalisation mean for the Emergency Services. All three of the emergency services (Police, Ambulance and Fire and Rescue Services) are working towards attaining professional status. This workshop discussed the progress that each of the services has made. It identified the barriers and the opportunities, what the services can do themselves and were they require outside help.
