Abstract: | Directed by Naomi (Boz) Braithwaite, 25 mins. Where’s Wilma? a debut film by Boz Braithwaite, tells the story of the cruel reality of dementia and the impacts it has on a mother-daughter relationship. Filmed at the family home in London, over a three-week period, Where’s Wilma? documents the experiences of Boz' mother, their dog Wilma, and Boz, the daughter as sole carer. Capturing the extremes of emotions from anxiety, paranoia, loneliness, loss and complete desperation, with just some glimmers of remembered happiness, the film presents an honest and intimate account of the devastating effects of dementia on what had been an unbreakable bond. |
