Description: This is a summary of social enterprise and placemaking activities in Nottingham through the summer of 2019, primarily funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, followed by my chairing of a workshop of circa 35 architects, landscape architects, designers and community organisers in Malmo on the 16th August as part of the Pushing Boarders international conference. This article summarises practice discussed during that workshop - from Canada, Finland, Australia, France, the UK and the United States.
This article has been republished in The Atlantic's CityLab and Newsweek Japan.
