Abstract:	This video details the manufacturing process developed to create electronic yarns where the embedded components are soldered onto two parallel wires. The soldering process starts with the removal of the insulation and enamel off of two multi-strand copper wires. Solder paste is then dispended onto each copper wire, before a component is placed, and the component is then soldered onto the wires using infra-red reflow soldering. The soldered component is then encapsulated within resin to protect the solder joint and to facilitate further processing. The soldered component is then fed into the encapsulation station where it is inserted into a mould with eight supporting yarns. The mould is filled with resin and cured, attaching the supporting yarns to the component and placing the component within a protective micro-pod. Finally, the ensemble is covered in a fibrous sheath using suture braider.
