Abstract

The findings and recommendations of this report are both a call to arms for more research on citizen participation in environmental policy at the local level, and for civic authorities to better engage with (young) people and groups from traditionally marginalised backgrounds. Using case study evidence from London and Nottingham, it highlights that there is a particular opportunity to utilize young people’s enthusiasm for action to tackle environmental problems- and their local knowledge- to address problems in their cities and neighbourhoods.
