Abstract

This report evaluates the effectiveness of financial assistance that was available to support and/or encourage self-isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The main focus is on the self-isolation payments that were introduced in 2020 in all four nations of the UK. These payments provided financial support to people on low incomes who were required to self-isolate but who would lose income as a result of not being able to work from home.
