Abstract

Spreadsheet of survey responses, transcripts of four interviews with international law students studying in England and Wales about their motivations for study here and there experiences whilst studying.

This data was generated as part of a project that sought to:
a)investigate whether the criteria found in the USA on the motivations and career aspirations of international law students are mirrored in the UK (likely to focus on England and Wales).
b)investigate the relative importance to international law students of the three dimensions of:
a.knowledge and competence for practice in the home jurisdiction;
b.status and capital envisaged as a “halo”; and
c. regulatory bypass.
