Abstract

This chapter synthesizes the insights from the edited volume to conceptualize collective resilience in the context of political violence and repression. It explores the complex interplay of group identity, social processes, and power structures that shape resilience, highlighting its manifestations in survival, solidarity, resistance, and adaptation. Moving beyond individualistic frameworks, the chapter emphasizes the social, political, and historical dimensions of resilience while critically examining its potential to perpetuate inequalities or empower transformative justice. By integrating perspectives on intragroup solidarity, intergroup relations, and global responsibilities, we outline pathways for achieving not only collective survival but also meaningful social change.
