Abstract

The purpose of this consultation was to seek views on proposals to reform how fire and rescue authorities in Wales are governed and funded.

Recent inspections by the Chief Fire and Rescue Adviser and Inspector for Wales, together with independent reviews of the organizational culture in all 3 fire and rescue services, have identified serious concerns relating to culture, leadership and operational delivery of fire and rescue services in Wales.

In response the Welsh Government has committed itself to examine options to introduce through secondary legislation in the Senedd.
