Abstract

This dataset contains 20 anonymised semi-structured interview transcripts with retired firefighters based in the UK. Interviews were conducted between October 2019 and January 2020. These interviews were conducted as part of the project entitled “Understanding the transition to retirement for firefighters: A social identity approach”. This project was funded by The Fire Fighters Charity.

Rights:	The data supporting this study are not available for sharing due to the limits of participant consent. Participants were informed that data would only be accessible to the research team and not shared with others. As such, the dataset has been deposited as a closed deposit in accordance with institutional and ethical guidelines. The interview schedule and supplementary materials will be made openly available via the Open Science Framework (OSF) upon completion of the double-blind peer review process.
