Abstract

This presentation considers the evolution of employment and skills policy in the East Midlands over the last 25 years. It compares the conceptualisation of the labourmarket evident in Regional Economic Strategies from the early 2000s with those in recent EMCCA policy outputs including the Inclusive Growth Commission, Local Growth Plan and Get east Midlands Working Plan published in autumn 2025.
